Se le llama tambi\u00e9n intervalo de cuarta aumentada o de quinta disminuida. Debido a su dificultosa entonaci\u00f3n y su sonido algo siniestro, en el <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Medievo\" title=\"Medievo\" rel=\"external nofollow\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Medievo<\/span><\/a> se le denominaba <em><a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diabulus_in_musica\" title=\"Diabulus in musica\" rel=\"external nofollow\"><span style=\"color: black;\">diabulus in musica<\/span><\/a><\/em> (\u2018el diablo en la m\u00fasica\u2019) y se consideraba un intervalo prohibido que hab\u00eda que evitar a toda costa.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">En la m\u00fasica antigua, la Iglesia sosten\u00eda la idea de que el <a href=\"http:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Diablo\" title=\"Diablo\" rel=\"external nofollow\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Diablo<\/span><\/a> se colaba en la m\u00fasica a trav\u00e9s de este intervalo. Para evitar esto, a la hora de componer, se prescind\u00eda del uso del <em>si<\/em> (la \u201csensible\u201d, el s\u00e9ptimo grado de la escala) pues era un sonido que incitaba a la formaci\u00f3n de la cuarta aumentada.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El <em>tritono<\/em> a\u00f1ade una tensi\u00f3n espiritual y una cualidad misteriosa al sonido que \u00e9ste no podr\u00eda tener de otra forma. Como el Diablo, que representa una mitad de la naturaleza humana, el <em>tritono<\/em> es una mitad de una octava y divide la escala musical en dos partes iguales inversas una de otra. Es el sonido de Saturno, el planeta del Diablo, que conjura el aspecto oculto que cada uno llevamos dentro y la parte m\u00e1s secreta y oscura de nuestra alma, aquella que no puede verse con los ojos\u2026 nuestra naturaleza primitiva.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: black;\">Afortunadamente, el guitarrista <strong>Tony Iommi <\/strong>lo recuper\u00f3 para crear el Heavy Metal.
